三亚航空旅游职业学院图书馆现为过渡性图书馆，于2005年10月10日开馆，馆舍面积700平方米。图书馆新馆大楼将于2007年5月前后建成，新馆面积14000平方米，届时学院图书馆大楼将成为学院标志性建筑之一，能够充分满足全院师生教学和科研的需要。
图书馆现有阅览座位120个、多媒体微机25台、图书检索机5台；一年来完成电子图书3万余种，电子期刊1万余种，在线民航数据库1种，纸质报刊200余种，以及纸质图书
3万余册的文献资源建设；随着新图书馆大楼的投入使用，文献资源建设的步伐将进一步加快，预计2007年末纸质图书达9万册，2008年末纸质图书达15万册。
图书馆已安装使用ILASⅡ图书管理软件，实现了图书采购、分编、流通和检索的自动化管理。购置了2T存量的磁盘阵列、2台服务器；开通了与全省高校图书联机检索、联机借阅等服务。图书馆大力加强数字资源的建设，可提供1万余种电子期刊全文和2万余册电子图书全文服务。
图书馆已具有现代图书馆大开间、全开放的布局特点和实行藏、检、借、阅合一的服务模式，已具有现代化图书馆的雏形。"为人找书，为书找人"是我们图书馆工作最简明的表述，"读者第一，服务育人"是图书馆的服务宗旨。虽然图书馆刚刚起步，面积、座位、藏书等方面还有限，但我们努力提供高利用率的藏书，方便快捷获取文献的手段、和谐温馨的阅读环境和优良的服务态度，力争满足全院师生对文献信息的要求。

Introduction

For
the time being, Sanya Aviation & Tourism College's library is
a temporary library of 700 square meters. It opened on Oct 10th,
2005. The new modern library building of 14,000 square meters
will be finished in May 2007. It will be one of the symbol buildings
of the college, and will cater the information demands of the
College's staff and students.
At present there are 120 reading seats,
25 computers and 5 researching computers. During the first year,
librarians have built the preliminary structure of resources
including more than 30,000 electronic books, 30,000 paper books,
200 paper journals, a database with 10,000 electronic magazines,
and an online aviation database. The number of resources will
grow rapidly when the new library building will be completed
by the end of 2007. The number of paper books will then be 90,000,
and at the end of 2008, it will reach 150,000. In addition,
the library cooperates intensively in different activities with
some other libraries and enjoys both catalogue and book exchanges
with 9 university libraries of Hainan Province.
The collection is made accessible by
an integrative library automatic system named ILASⅡ which makes
it possible to purchase, catalogue, borrow & return, research
books on-line. It is classified using "Chinese Library Classification"
and the ISBD cataloguing rules, which guarantee easy retrieval.
There are 2 web servers and disk array with 2TB. We pay great
attention to the construction of digital resources，and pesenly,
there are more than 10,000 kinds of full text electronic magazines,
30,000 electronic books and an online database.
The modern layout of the library reading
rooms can offer enough space for storing, researching, borrowing
and reading books. This arrangement is a like a "super market"
model that can supply readers with diversified products. "Prioritize
users' needs in providing them the best services" has always
been the sole purpose of the library staff. "Every book has
its reader, every reader has his book" is our motto. "Wisdom
and Service" is the constant objective we seek. During this
construction period, in spite the limited space, seats and books,
we are trying our best to provide our readers with good books,
excellent service and comfortable environment.
